April 3rd-Day 4
Monday consisted of getting Cass situated into the apartment. So it was a relatively lazy day, but we did go out to get some shopping done. Katie was around the construction site and was able to take us to Fred Meyers, since neither of us have a car. Before leaving we had an unexpected visitor, who knocked on our door and asked us if we were ready to go take the CDL test in 10 minutes. We both were in fact not ready and were surprised by how quickly they wanted this done, so we said that we would be ready by Wednesday to go test. That was our first interaction with a new Coworker(Nate)! After returning, I decided that I wanted to explore our side of the island more, and took the recommendation of Sandy Beach to be my destination. Cass was still working on her time change and wanted to nap, so I was going solo for my adventure. Sandy Beach is nothing like the beaches I've been to on the East Coast/ Gulf. First off it was very wet, cold, and rainy, and second there were abandoned metal scrapes and pipes, buildings, and artifacts scattered along the beach, and third nobody was swimming in the water(Obviously, it's Freezing!). I wore some hiking shoes,(which worked but I should have worn some sort of rain boot instead) so I had to end a little early because I wasn't able to cross certain sections of the beach. When I got back home, I made a shrimp salad dinner, studied for my CDL training, did some drawing, and went to bed.
