April 23rd-Day 24

 I got to sleep-in to 10am, it's the little things in life! I woke up and moseyed around the apartment for a bit, before I headed to my final CDL practice with Cam. I feel confident on the driving part of the test, as well as the cones, but I'm still a little nervous about the pre-trip part. Good thing my test is supposedly scheduled for Tuesday now, hopefully. 

Just as I got back home, Hannah stopped by and wanted to go fill up her bike, so it was adventure time. We couldn't find any air pumps, so we decided to check out the Mendenhall Mall, and there were so many good stores inside it. Definitely different from any mall I have been to. There was an outdoorsy outlet mall that had a good selection of gear, and a spice/herb store, and a plant store! Long story short, I bought a new plant, and holy cow did they have a great selection of plants there. Some I've never seen or heard of before, but I ended up with a Hoya pubicalyx splash. Between all the stops I have been working hard on my crocheting skills and have made good progress on my hat.

When we got back to the apartments we had to get ready for her B-Day dinner. Without Hannah knowing, Cass made a whole bunch of chocolate strawberries and I made a little card. We headed to a local bar and restaurant that was located in The Valley, called The Sandbar. I got fish and chips and split fried mozzarella sticks with Cass. This place is for sure a local spot and the price and quality for the halibut bites were amazing! I'm sure to bring friends and family here! Our crew that went was Cass, Hannah, Parker, Zane, Matt, Adam, Paz, Katherine, Kelsey, and I.

As we speak Zane, Madison, Cass and I are watching Howl's Moving Castle and relaxing for the rest of the night. Tomorrow is a big day and the start of a busy week. We start our guide training at 8:30am and don't finish till late afternoon, which is happening every day this week.

May 3rd- Day 35

  I leave for Georgia today for Graduation, but first a full day of training. Today I had a Guides choice hike tour which involves a 4-5 mile strenuous hike in Tongass National Forest. My lead Guide was Mike and he is a glaciologist, which is super cool and unique. I had to speak a lot more during this tour and it felt a bit more real that I will start leading tours next week. I was able to talk about plants so I was happy, but since this whole training session lasted from 9-4pm, I was completely pooped. Once I got home I quickly showered, put my final items away and got ready for my flight at 6:50. I read the boarding and departing time wrong, but since Juneau’s airport is so small I walked through security and to my gate in less than 5 minutes. May 4th and 5th- Day 36 and 37

  I am officially in Georgia, after a month of not seeing my parents it was a nice little reunion! I technically think this is the longest we have been apart, since during college I would see them regularly due to soccer games. I had a checklist longer than what seemed possible to complete in three days, but we were ready to see what we could accomplish. First stops were to pick up chick-fil-a and then yarn from the church. Next we headed home, where I got to see Gram as well as all my babies. Back out again to get some items as well as a graduation dress. Back home, ate lunch, then headed up to pick up Kayla from her college. Can you tell we were packing in everything we could within this first day! Also keep in mind I am running off two hours of sleep as well as a four hour time change.  Now we get to Brevard, drop off the dog and then head down to my favorite Mexican restaurant in Brevard, El Chapala. March 30th- Day 0

I arrived with mom and dad in Juneau, AK at around 9:30 pm on March 30th. With a surplus of very large bags and minimal energy left, we waited for Scott Ranger to pick us up. It seemed like a never ending day, which it kind of was. We woke up at 5:00am in Georgia, and now after two plane rides, 7 hours of travel, 4 time zones, and a full day of exploring airports we made it. I’m sure we looked like zombies when Scott pulled up to us in the airport, the excitement of being here in Juneau wasn't truly here since we couldn't see anything in the dark. Once we arrived at the Ranger’s condo, we went to bed and fell asleep instantly. I forgot to mention that we were able to explore Seattle for a little bit, between our layovers, and I was able to get a special Starbucks coffee mug that I have been wanting since last July!
